The students in the evening ESL Listening and Speaking class, levels 5 and 6, prepared movies to share as part of Leadership and Literacy Week, spring quarter 2016. Each student developed a plan, made video clips and selected photos to mix an original movie. The digital stories are based something that they are proud of learning. The students learned to use the online tool, Animoto. Many used their iPhones and iPads to create their movies.
Special thanks are in order to the volunteers who made this project possible. Rose Zhang worked magic with her computer skills. She helped to organize the project. The beautiful DVD that she created is an example of the expertise she brought to the project. Ting Chen and Natalia Karimova took many excellent photographs. JoAnn Atwell-Scrivner shot video clips, helped students develop their scripts, and supported them through the movie-making process.
